happy heart teachers

Happy Heart Teachers was founded in 2016 by Ilana Ingber and Jenny Bevill. Together they bring more than 25 years of experience teaching all ages and abilities in classrooms, museums, yoga studios, and community centers in New York, California, and Montana. HHT presents regularly at regional and national conferences.

Jenny and Ilana, both received their MA's in Art and Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and met through their work in the Guggenheim Museum's Learning Through Art program in 2009. From their collaboration in a third-grade classroom to the present day they have co-created workshops and mentorships for teachers in a variety of school and community settings. They are passionate about sharing the practices they use every day to stay in balance and bring joy to the essential work of teaching.

Happy Heart Teachers Mission: We help teachers cultivate emotional resilience and self-love so they can feel more relaxed and joyful in their day to day experience. Happy Heart Teachers believes the foundation of impactful education systems is a healthy, relaxed, teacher. When teachers share these tools with their students they cultivate emotional intelligence and peace in their classroom. The impact will ripple out to communities everywhere.

The Robertson Center

Something happens in a room full of educators. Ideas get bigger, barriers shrink, defy-the-odds notions feel downright within reach. We believe in these rooms — in the power of bringing together our country’s fiercest believers in the capacity of kids to help them set it free. At the Robertson Center, makers of magical classrooms find the content, conversation and community they need to accelerate their inspiring work.

Success Academy’s 47 free public schools serve over 20,000 K-12 students across New York City. These scholars - 78% of whom come from low-income households and all of whom are admitted by random lottery - are the highest performing in New York State.
